Job Title: Bay Area Director of Development

Juma Ventures is seeking an experienced fundraiser and nonprofit leader to help fuel its mission in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This role will play a critical part in Juma's impact on the young people it serves across two regional sites in San Francisco and San Jose, California.

The Bay Area Director of Development will help sustain and grow Juma's local base of philanthropic support, working in partnership with local philanthropic communities.

This position requires exceptional drive and passion for our work, as well as a commitment to working collaboratively with the national and regional development teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of Bay Area institutional and individual funders with a current annual fundraising goal of $2 million.
  • Lead donors through the cultivation and stewardship cycles, ensuring a 5-8% year-over-year growth in Juma's regional budget and fundraising goal.
  • Position Juma's two Bay Area Sites for long-term sustainability by focusing on external fundraising, institutional funders, individual funders, and event fundraising.
  • Support partnership development across Juma's social enterprise and youth programming activities, serving as a senior leader for the San Francisco and San Jose Site teams.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of seven years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the nonprofit philanthropic, private, or public sectors.
  • Proven track record in driving relationships with philanthropic institutions and individuals investing in six-figure grants/gifts.
  • Strong connections across the Bay Area nonprofit and philanthropic communities.
  • Skilled in creating robust, compelling written and oral communications for fundraising, including the ability to convey complex ideas through simple and brief materials.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce (or other CRM Systems such as Raiser's Edge).

  • A competitive salary of $115,000- $130,000.
