Audio Visual Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:
A Project Manager (PM) is accountable for the overall scope, timeline, budget, quality, and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure. The PM relies on collaboration with team members to execute project tasks effectively. This role emphasizes clear communication with all stakeholders involved.

Daily Duties Include:
Managing project communications, scheduling, technician task lists, and ensuring deliverables from engineering and programming are met. The PM is tasked with completing integration projects on schedule and within budget while achieving high levels of customer satisfaction. This position requires extensive interaction with all project stakeholders to enhance established processes.

  • Offers technical and administrative support to team members.
  • Conducts site assessments and documents potential issues.
  • Coordinates documentation and design reviews.
  • Manages contractor relationships as needed.
  • Monitors project status to ensure timely completion.
  • Promotes quality and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates training and project handover to clients.

Complexity:
Each project presents unique challenges, requiring the PM to navigate a complex array of variables, including system design and stakeholder expectations. Effective communication skills are essential for managing these dynamics.

Decision-Making Authority:
The PM takes full ownership of projects, ensuring quality delivery and client satisfaction while managing financial aspects. They communicate options to stakeholders and navigate a complex decision-making landscape.

Physical Demands:
This role may involve exposure to construction environments. The PM must adhere to safety regulations and utilize personal protective equipment as required. The position may require mobility around job sites and the ability to lift materials up to 20 pounds.

Travel Requirements:
Frequent travel is necessary, including local and occasional remote trips. A valid driver's license is required, and mileage reimbursement is provided.

Safety Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, participate in safety reviews, and prepare necessary safety documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • PMP certification is preferred; AVIXA CTS certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience overseeing long-term projects is preferred.
  • Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to address complex technical and interpersonal challenges.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with audio/video system installations.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage electrical projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
