Experience Requirements:Minimum of 5 years related experience
Licensure/Certification:Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) along with an additional approved national sterile processing certification within one year of employment.
Physical Demands:Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly; must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, with occasional travel required. Work conditions may involve exposure to communicable diseases and potential injury from patients or sharp instruments.
Work Schedule:Monday to Friday; 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; may require occasional holiday, weekend, and on-call duties based on departmental needs.
Job Overview:The CSPD Manager holds comprehensive accountability for the 24-hour operations of the flexible scope reprocessing services within the UKHC enterprise. This role encompasses staff supervision and oversight of scope management, including cleaning, storage, and distribution across all High-Level Disinfection (HLD) locations. The manager is tasked with providing daily leadership, administration, and enhancement of Central Sterile services, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of surgical instruments, including scopes, while maintaining high-quality patient outcomes.
The position collaborates with departmental leadership to ensure accurate case carts, instrument sets, and timely turnaround of equipment, guaranteeing the availability of clean, sterile, and functional instruments, alongside managing scope inventory reconciliation. Responsibilities also include staffing, budget oversight, fiscal management, and quality improvement initiatives, as well as guiding department-specific supervisors to ensure essential operational support. Additionally, this role will prioritize strategic objectives for Perioperative Services related to critical Central Sterile expectations.
