Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Slide Management Associate, under the supervision of the Accessioning Supervisor, offers essential support for the internal slide organization system of the company. This role is crucial for the systematic maintenance and arrangement of all anatomical and cytological slides. The Slide Management Associate will engage in routine manual and physical tasks related to the upkeep of inventory (slides and blocks) within a pathology laboratory setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Conduct daily collection of incoming slides from the accessioning department.
  • Retrieve slides from associated healthcare facilities.
  • Systematically file all slides and blocks at the laboratory and affiliated locations.
  • Oversee the slide filing cabinets and notify the Supervisor when space is limited.
  • Assist in the selection of slides and facilitate offsite relocation to optimize storage space.
  • Collaborate with Pathologists to locate and prepare cases for examination.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Comply with the Corporate Compliance Program and all relevant policies, including Privacy and Security regulations.
  • Follow all safety protocols diligently.
  • Execute all responsibilities in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory standards to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive health information.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • Coordinate with other departments within the organization.
  • Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties as necessary.
  • Perform other tasks as required.
Qualifications

Education and Licensure
  • High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
Experience
  • Preferred minimum of 6 months experience in a filing role.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Capability to work independently is essential.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
