About the Role

BorgWarner is seeking an experienced Automation Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for providing technical support and resources to ensure the highest level of safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity in our equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot automated equipment failures to determine necessary upgrades and/or repairs
  • Read and understand equipment manuals and electrical schematics
  • Document activities carried out and results of work
  • Collaborate with Controls/Manufacturing Engineers to develop equipment and controls for new products and improve existing equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including repair, diagnosis, cleaning, lubrication, and upgrading of manufacturing equipment
  • Provide support for troubleshooting and recovering problems with robots on the production line
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment
Requirements
  • Successful completion of vocational training in Automation, Robotics, Electrical Engineering/mechatronics or comparable training
  • At least three years of related experience preferred
  • Professional experience in maintenance and with automated systems, focusing on assembly technology
  • Working knowledge of tools and devices, such as torque guns, volt meters, etc.
  • Experience with basic electrical systems, including PLC, sensors, fuses, contacts, relays, and the ability to read and use mechanical and electrical schematics for repairs and troubleshooting
  • Experience with machine controls fault codes and the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic system components
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task, with a high level of commitment and a responsible, independent, and team-oriented work style
