Overview:


The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is tasked with managing daily operations and steering the strategic direction of Haven House, NWI.

The CEO will establish protocols aimed at enhancing staff productivity, fostering a positive organizational culture, and overseeing personnel.

The CEO will guarantee that the organization adheres to all relevant federal and state funding requirements and will keep the Board informed on significant organizational matters.


Key Responsibilities Include:


Assisting the Financial Manager in the development of grant proposals, budgetary plans, financial statements for funding bodies, audit obligations, and tax documentation as necessary.

Identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities.

Working alongside the House Manager to maintain adequate inventory levels of supplies, food, and other essential items by reviewing and approving expenditures.

As a non-voting participant, attending all Board of Directors meetings and its committees, providing oral and written updates as required.

Setting both short-term and long-term objectives for staff training and development.

Enforcing all protocols outlined in the Agency's Personnel Policies.


Overseeing staff activities, assessing their performance, and making recommendations regarding hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions in accordance with personnel policies.

Conducting meetings with shelter staff and volunteers to align on program goals and objectives.


Ensuring continuous staff coverage at the shelter, and being ready to fill in during emergencies or staffing shortages.

Offering guidance and support to all program personnel. Supervising all direct services provided to clients, including a 24-hour hotline, counseling, shelter services, support group referrals, and On-Call Services.

Staying informed on best practices, current research, and effective responses to domestic violence.

Delivering community presentations on domestic violence awareness.

Collaborating with personnel from other organizations to enhance service connections.

Carrying out administrative duties such as obtaining quotes, ordering supplies, and making necessary communications.

Partnering with the Residential Manager to ensure effective client case management and referrals.

Qualifications:

Preferred:
A Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, social services, or a related field.

The minimum requirement is a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as behavioral/social services, social work, or counseling, or three (3) years of experience in social services, preferably in a family violence center.

A minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience is required.

Extensive knowledge of trauma-informed best practices, domestic violence, sexual assault, and local resources is essential.

Skills and Competencies:
Flexibility and adaptability to change are crucial.

Understanding of domestic violence/sexual assault issues and the diverse social and cultural challenges faced by survivors.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and maintain client trust.

Non-judgmental and respectful approach towards clients.

Capacity to thrive in a high-stress environment.

Aptitude for working with diverse personalities.

Proven leadership skills and a professional demeanor in the community.

Supervision:
Overseeing the Residential Manager, House Manager, Financial Manager, Shelter Advocates, and Parent/Child Advocate.

Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Board of Directors

Employment Type:

$58,000 - $65,000 annually
