Job Overview

The Supply Chain Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in the acquisition of essential materials, products, and services necessary for the operational success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designs and executes procurement strategies for raw materials and services.
  • Analyzes market data to assess the viability of purchasing options and to set pricing goals.
  • Evaluates and approves vendors, solicits bids, and awards contracts based on comprehensive analysis.
  • Engages in negotiations with suppliers, examining their operations to identify cost-effective solutions while ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Reviews supplier proposals, negotiates terms, and maintains thorough documentation of all transactions.
  • Addresses and resolves supplier-related issues including claims, returns, and order discrepancies.
  • Collaborates with Sales to prepare competitive proposals for clients.
  • Assists procurement team members in daily operations, troubleshooting delivery and invoice issues.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost reduction in material procurement.
  • Promotes the implementation of Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality across the organization.
  • Ensures suppliers comply with all program requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Develops streamlined processes to align material supply with production needs.
  • Facilitates regular meetings to ensure effective communication across departments.
  • Maintains compliance with purchasing tools and methodologies to achieve operational goals.
  • Ensures adherence to AS9100 certification standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Purchasing, inventory management, and MRP systems.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and networking abilities.
  • Knowledgeable in secure data transmission protocols.
  • Familiar with ITAR and EAR99 classifications during procurement processes.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with management and team members.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing team staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in preparing small business plans is advantageous.
