Job Role: System product debugging and failure analysis
Position Summary:
The Failure Analysis Technician is accountable for diagnosing and rectifying issues in L11/L10 systems or L6 circuit boards by pinpointing defective components and substituting them with functional ones. This role also supports the Engineering Department and production testing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes system configurations or board schematics to conduct bench-level troubleshooting of systems or circuit boards to identify the cause of malfunctions and implement solutions.
- Executes necessary repairs by replacing defective components through soldering to restore the system or circuit board to a functional state.
- Sets up and tests the repaired systems or circuit boards to ensure compliance with specified requirements.
- Identifies failures and issues, isolates problems, and takes appropriate measures to resolve them.
- Operates oscilloscopes, multimeters, and test fixtures, demonstrating a clear understanding of their use and functionality.
- Utilizes hand tools and small power tools, with a solid grasp of their operation and purpose.
- Reports any unresolved or potential issues that could adversely impact project timelines.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving abilities with proficiency in both digital and analog systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, hand tools, soldering irons, hand crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers.
- Ability to exercise judgment within established procedures and safety protocols to determine appropriate actions.
- Capable of generating failure analysis and problem reports.
- Advanced knowledge in electronic theory, typically acquired through technical trade schools, military training, or relevant associate degree programs.
- Ability to interpret PCB schematics.
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to multitask and support various projects and business needs as required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- An Associate's degree or equivalent technical experience, including military technical training.
- Prior experience in electronic troubleshooting is essential.
