Position Summary:
The Failure Analysis Technician is accountable for the repair of L11/L10 systems or L6 circuit boards by diagnosing defective components and substituting them with functional ones. This role also supports the Engineering Department and assists in production testing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes system configurations or board schematics to conduct bench-level diagnostics of system or circuit boards to identify the cause of malfunctions and implement solutions.
  • Executes necessary repairs by replacing defective components through soldering to restore the system or circuit board to a functional state.
  • Sets up and evaluates the repaired systems or circuit boards to ensure they meet specified performance criteria.
  • Identifies failures and issues, isolates problems, and takes suitable measures to address them.
  • Operates oscilloscopes, multimeters, and testing fixtures, demonstrating an understanding of their functions.
  • Uses hand tools and small power tools effectively, understanding their applications.
  • Reports any unresolved or potential issues that could adversely impact project timelines.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a solid foundation in both digital and analog electronics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, hand tools, soldering equipment, crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers.
  • Ability to exercise judgment within established procedures and safety protocols to determine appropriate actions.
  • Capable of generating failure analysis and problem reports.
  • Advanced training in electronic theory, typically acquired through technical trade schools, military training, associate degree programs, or extensive on-the-job experience.
  • Proficient in reading PCB schematics.
  • A collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to multitask and support various projects and business needs as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • An Associate's degree or equivalent technical experience and/or military technical training.
  • Prior experience in electronic troubleshooting is mandatory.
