Role Function: System product debugging and failure assessment


Position Summary:
The Failure Analysis Technician is accountable for diagnosing and rectifying issues in L11/L10 systems or L6 circuit boards by pinpointing defective components and substituting them with functional ones. This role also involves supporting the Engineering Department and conducting production tests.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing system configurations or board schematics, perform bench-level diagnostics on system or circuit boards to identify the root cause of malfunctions.
  • Execute necessary repairs by replacing defective components through soldering to restore the system or circuit board to a functional state.
  • Set up and evaluate the repaired systems or circuit boards to ensure they meet specified operational criteria.
  • Identify failures and issues, isolate the problems, and take appropriate measures to resolve them.
  • Operate oscilloscopes, multimeters, and testing fixtures, demonstrating a clear understanding of their functionalities.
  • Use hand tools and small power tools effectively, showing knowledge of their operation.
  • Document all unresolved or potential issues that could adversely impact project timelines.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with proficiency in both digital and analog technologies.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, hand tools, soldering equipment, crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers.
  • Ability to exercise judgment within established procedures and safety protocols to determine the best course of action.
  • Generate detailed failure analysis and problem reports.
  • Possess advanced training in electronic theory, typically acquired through technical trade schools, military training, associate degree programs, or extensive on-the-job experience.
  • Capability to read and interpret PCB schematics.
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness and ability to multitask and support various projects and business needs as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • An Associate's degree or equivalent technical experience and/or military technical training.
  • Prior experience in electronic troubleshooting is mandatory.
