About Us:

At Chewy, we are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Solutions Architect to enhance our Merchandising Analytics Team. This position requires a blend of analytical expertise, financial acumen, and merchandising insight, coupled with a robust capability in crafting and optimizing solutions tailored for our business needs. The developed solutions will empower business stakeholders to efficiently access their analytical requirements, thereby accelerating insights and actionable outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in delivering top-tier business intelligence tools, utilizing industry-standard platforms such as Tableau and Power BI, or customizable solutions leveraging programming languages like Python and R. This role demands a high level of independence to expedite project timelines, alongside advanced SQL and ELT skills to ensure data is structured optimally for these solutions. A strong passion for data, collaborative spirit, and an inquisitive analytical mindset are essential attributes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement business intelligence systems that enable stakeholders to effectively oversee operations and enhance decision-making processes.
  • Document, troubleshoot, evaluate, and deploy data management and business intelligence systems to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business clients to comprehend their requirements and deliver solutions that support their analytical and reporting objectives.
  • Create and maintain an analytical framework utilizing both third-party and proprietary reporting tools, modeling metadata, and developing reports and dashboards to provide timely and structured data access.
  • Ensure the technical infrastructure's completeness and compatibility to meet performance, availability, and architectural standards.
  • Continuously refine the merchandising BI offerings based on stakeholder feedback to enhance their insight speed.

Qualifications:

  • A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of experience with comprehensive knowledge of BI data warehouse architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT processes, and reporting/analytic tools.
  • At least 8 years of experience with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Business Objects.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing self-service BI solutions, standardized reports, and enterprise-level BI systems.
  • 4+ years of experience in data modeling within large data warehousing and data lake environments.
  • 4+ years of data science experience, including building regression and classification models.
  • 3+ years of experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab, or similar statistical/machine learning software.
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies (EMR, Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive).
  • Advanced analytical skills with a strong command of SQL.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in gathering requirements and developing business metrics for reporting.
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling and constructing predictive models from the ground up.
  • Advanced technical expertise in Python.
  • Data modeling experience in the domains of Merchandising, Finance, and Retail/Ecommerce.
