About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the State of Florida's Office of Financial Regulation as a Government Analyst II. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Office of Inspector General in performing audits, investigations, and other accountability activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Planning and Conducting Audits: Collaborate with the Inspector General and Audit Director to plan and conduct audits, management reviews, consultation engagements, and other accountability activities.
  • Conduct Investigations and Reviews: Assist with planning and conducting investigations, inquiries, and reviews of alleged violations of statutes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data in support of OIG activities, and present findings and recommendations.
  • Research and Presentations: Conduct independent research related to OIG projects, analyze information, and present results.
  • Coordination with External Entities: Assist OIG team members with coordinating with external entities, such as the Auditor General and Office of Program Policy and Governmental Accountability (OPPAGA).
  • Annual Risk Assessment: Assist OIG team members in initiating, conducting, and completing the annual risk assessment process to prepare the required annual audit work plan.
  • Accreditation and Quality Assurance: Establish, update, and maintain records related to the OIG's accreditation through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. (CFA).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or finance.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA): Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification.
  • Experience in Accounting and Auditing: Experience in accounting and auditing.
