Security Analyst Role Overview:

The Security Analyst will play a pivotal role in the Application Services team, focusing on the establishment of new integration methods and standards while implementing system integrations in accordance with these guidelines.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be US Citizens and will undergo a government security investigation. Candidates must have resided in the US for the past five years and must currently possess the ability to access classified government information. Please note that the employer will not sponsor any employment visas, including H-1B visas, and Corp-to-Corp or subcontract personnel will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage security administration tasks, including configuring and documenting firewall infrastructure access rules and collaborating with peripheral network components using Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and Global Protect VPNs.
  • Oversee firewall deployments, rule migrations, and the administration of firewalls, transitioning existing rule-based policies to new platforms.
  • Engage with critical core network infrastructure devices such as firewalls, VPNs, log collectors, and monitors, which are essential for maintaining security within the IT environment.
  • Configure firewall and security policies for cloud network infrastructure while monitoring network traffic.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation in alignment with NIST guidelines.
  • Act as a Project Manager and Data Administrator.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 4 to 6 years of combined experience in IT and security, with a broad exposure to systems analysis, application development, and database design and administration.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience with information security tools based on NIST standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of security issues, techniques, and implications across various computer platforms, with a preference for experience with Palo Alto or Checkpoint security products.
  • Proficiency in using schematic diagramming tools to map infrastructure layouts.

Primary Duties:

  • Develop and manage security protocols across multiple IT functional areas (e.g., data, systems, network, and/or web).
  • Assist in formulating and implementing security policies and procedures, including user log-on and authentication rules, security breach escalation procedures, and auditing protocols.
  • Prepare status reports on security matters and develop risk analysis scenarios and response strategies.
  • Monitor and track software viruses, enforce security policies, and document security controls.
  • Evaluate products and procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
  • Provide direct support to business and IT staff for security-related inquiries and educate them on security policies.
  • Represent the organization's security needs in all IT projects, offering expertise on security issues.
  • Possess extensive knowledge in networking, databases, systems, and web operations.

  • Intermediate professional level role, capable of working independently or as part of a project team.
  • Ability to handle complex security issues or projects requiring advanced skills across multiple IT functional areas.
  • May mentor junior staff members.
