Position Overview

Peraton is looking for a Business Process Consultant to enhance our capabilities in delivering effective solutions.

This role involves collaborating with the Division of Food Safety to augment existing personnel by aiding in the planning, design, development, and execution of information technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates the enhancement of operational efficiency by improving the synergy between business workflows and technological solutions.
  • Actively addresses daily technological requirements of the business unit, focusing on process analysis, problem dissection, and solution recommendations. This includes complex systems analysis, design, and simulation.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of technical challenges and solutions in relation to both current and future business landscapes, proposing integration plans for new and existing workflows.
  • Contributes to the planning and prioritization of business process engineering activities, including the development of the business unit's process engineering strategy and its alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Brings knowledge and experience in leveraging IT solutions alongside business process enhancements.
  • Engages in ongoing reviews and updates to ensure processes adapt to evolving business conditions. Identifies areas for improvement, documents current workflows, analyzes gaps between existing processes and desired outcomes, designs new workflows, develops performance metrics, and plans transitions to new processes.
  • Provides guidance and leadership on the future application of technology and business process enhancements.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, a Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a High School diploma with 12 years of experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of passing a background check.
  • Experience in conducting business analysis for IT projects.
  • Experience in managing large-scale software development initiatives.
  • Experience in creating process model diagrams.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into use cases/user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with various levels of Department staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in business process re-engineering.
  • Ability to derive business process and data requirements from process and system documentation analysis.
  • Experience in converting information from meetings and written materials into process models and/or flow diagrams.

Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000, representing the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
