Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated After-Hours Registered Nurse to provide exceptional hospice care. At Central Missouri Hospice, we prioritize a culture of compassion, trust, and connection, ensuring that we support not only our patients but also their families and the communities we serve.

Role Expectations

The primary responsibility of the After-Hours Registered Nurse is to ensure comprehensive and timely hospice care delivery for patients and their families outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Assessing patient needs over the phone until an in-person visit can be arranged.
  • Responding promptly and effectively to urgent calls from patients and families during after-hours.
  • Conducting initial nursing evaluations to determine hospice service eligibility within forty-eight (48) hours of referral when assigned.
  • Performing after-hours visits, including admissions, death visits, recertifications, and routine check-ins.
  • Identifying and reassessing the physical, psychosocial, emotional, and environmental needs of patients and families at least every fifteen (15) days.
  • Documenting issues, setting appropriate goals, and recording interventions and responses to care.

Experience and License Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience is required.

Licensure

  • Must hold a current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • A valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation are necessary.
