We are currently seeking a Senior Vocational Nurse Supervisor (LVN) who is passionate about delivering healthcare to families in need. This role is pivotal in our medical center, serving as a key leader and resource for both patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee clinical support personnel, ensuring they receive ongoing training tailored to the needs of our patients and providers.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of clinical documentation and procedures to maintain high standards of care.
  • Facilitate orientation and training for nursing and medical assistant staff at our clinical site.
  • Assist clinical providers by taking vital signs, gathering initial patient histories, and preparing for procedures.
  • Administer medications, manage refills, and provide patient education during nurse visits.
  • Perform phlebotomy with precision, ensuring specimen integrity for laboratory testing.
  • Process prescriptions as directed by clinical providers.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.
  • Educate patients on medication management and adherence.
  • Manage pharmacy operations, including inventory and ordering, while overseeing vaccine supplies and reporting.
  • Implement OSHA and MSDS protocols within the medical center, serving as the Lead Emergency Response Team member.
  • Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
  • Facilitate referrals to specialists as needed.
  • Engage in telephone triage when necessary.
  • Participate in Quality Management initiatives, reporting findings and implementing clinical improvements.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Clinical Nurse Manager.
  • Regular in-person attendance is essential for this role.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a vehicle safely during work hours.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years of direct clinical experience, with a preference for experience in pediatric, family practice, or internal medicine.
  • Current LVN license in the State of Texas is required.
  • Previous supervisory experience in an outpatient clinical environment is preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to serve as a resource for other medical staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual abilities (Spanish/English) are advantageous.
  • Proficient in data entry and familiar with electronic health record systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work effectively in a busy environment.
  • Experience with OSHA, TDH, and regulatory requirements for clinical operations is beneficial.
Work Environment:
  • This position requires in-person work in a clinical setting.
  • May involve alternative scheduling to meet patient needs.
  • Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 15 pounds and remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and retain critical information.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and successfully complete a motor vehicle background check.
