Department Overview:

The Administrative Information Support Services (AITS) plays a critical role in supporting the university's mission by offering essential resources for computing, software, data, and communication technologies. The Frisco IT team is responsible for delivering comprehensive technology support to various academic and administrative units.

Role Summary:

This role is pivotal in providing extensive technology support to faculty, staff, students, and visitors at the UNT Frisco campus. The Senior IT Support Manager will oversee daily operations, manage technical staff, and collaborate with various departments to ensure effective technology solutions. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the AITS Frisco unit in the absence of the IT Director.
  • Developing and executing strategic plans for technology support and lifecycle management.
  • Managing projects and resource allocation effectively.
  • Providing hands-on end-user support and training.
  • Installing, testing, and maintaining systems and applications.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field along with six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of computing principles and network systems.
  • Ability to maintain and support various hardware and software systems.
  • Experience with building automation and digital signage systems.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical users.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Management or supervisory experience in IT.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft).
  • Experience with server management and remote monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing operational support for users, servers, and A/V systems.
  • Ensuring a high-quality end-user experience through proactive support and maintenance.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to plan and implement technology projects.
  • Analyzing systems to develop strategic plans for improvement.
  • Monitoring cybersecurity measures to protect university resources.

Work Schedule:

This position requires availability Monday through Thursday, with occasional on-call responsibilities.
