The Office of Admissions plays a crucial role in the enrollment strategy at the University of North Texas, focusing on outreach and recruitment while providing tailored support to prospective students throughout their application journey.
Role Summary:
The University of North Texas is seeking a Graduate Admissions Senior Coordinator to assist in the processing of applications for prospective graduate students. Under the guidance of the Processing Supervisor, this role entails a variety of administrative responsibilities, including data management, record maintenance, and correspondence handling.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent, coupled with three years of general office or clerical experience. Educational qualifications may substitute for experience.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in telephone etiquette and effective communication, both verbal and written.
- Adept at assessing situations to direct inquiries appropriately.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Skilled in operating various office equipment, including computers and copiers.
- Strong organizational skills in filing and recordkeeping.
- Competent in English composition, grammar, and punctuation.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Familiarity with standard office procedures and protocols.
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Proficiency in data entry and ten-key operations.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak registration periods.
- Respond to inquiries regarding admission policies and procedures, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant guidelines.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry for new applications and essential admission documents, with a focus on precision.
- Provide backup support for the processing of domestic and international applications and transcripts.
- Download applications with a high degree of accuracy.
- Manage the processing of received transcripts, ensuring they are verified and accurately matched to student files, including data entry into the system.
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
