Position Overview: Under direct supervision, the individual will safely manage equipment and handle cleaning agents to ensure the effective sanitation of production machinery while maintaining cleanliness and order in all processing areas and surrounding grounds.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards concerning Employee Safety (OSHA), Employment (HR), Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA), Work Rules, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), and other company-established benchmarks.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to uphold the highest standards in line with BRC requirements.
  • Utilize the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while executing job responsibilities.
  • Adhere to Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) and BRC protocols and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Supervisors to uphold cleanliness standards, enhance efficiencies, and reduce product damage.
  • Establish cleaning priorities based on guidance from the QA Supervisor or through consultation with the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Operate cleaning equipment as necessary and perform chemical concentration monitoring as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Conduct accurate inventory assessments and maintain cleanliness in equipment and chemical storage areas.
  • Properly store all cleaning agents and safety equipment.
  • Provide training to new staff members.
  • Utilize various cleaning equipment, including high-pressure water hoses, to thoroughly clean and sanitize production machinery according to established protocols, which may involve disassembling and reassembling equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance of the company's exterior grounds.
  • Apply cleaning agents for sanitization and degreasing; execute hot water washdowns for sterilization.
  • Prepare necessary cleaning agents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the QA team to achieve operational goals.
  • Conduct vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of floors and staircases using manual tools and equipment.
  • Operate floor sanitation machinery such as scrubbers.
  • Sanitize restrooms and common areas.
  • Clean and restock supplies in break rooms and shared spaces.
  • Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and clean as needed.
  • Dust and clean office furniture and surfaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness of windowsills and windows.
  • Keep janitorial closets organized and safe.
  • Complete special projects and other reasonable tasks as assigned by Management.


Required Skills:

  • Able to work required shift hours and overtime as necessary.
  • Capable of climbing stairs.
  • Proficient in using approved cleaning supplies while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Able to work in a multi-temperature environment, exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Skilled in operating a forklift.
  • Meets productivity standards.
  • Works well independently or as part of a team.
  • General knowledge of chemicals utilized within the facility.
  • 0 – 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written specifications, blueprints, or schematics.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.


Compensation: Base salary range from $33,280 - $60,320.
