Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on machinery, equipment, and physical structures to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Install, maintain, and repair pipe and electrical systems in the facility.
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders, drill presses, and milling machines to repair or fabricate parts.
  • Troubleshoot issues and repair failures of production and facility equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Complete assigned work orders and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area and ensure that all equipment and tools are properly stored and secured.
  • Utilize maintenance systems to complete daily, weekly, and monthly duties.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Enter information into systems to document work order completion and provide support to the team in the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
  • Participate in and actively support all plant initiatives and follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems and adhere to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance mechanics or a related field.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficient knowledge and ability in welding, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with high degree of accuracy and precision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Basic computer use knowledge and skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Flexible to work any shift as needed.
