Key Responsibilities:
As a Field Service Specialist, you will:
1. Receive service requests from the Service Resource Center, which includes a brief overview of equipment or system issues.
2. Communicate with customer representatives to identify and clarify equipment/system problems.
3. Diagnose and execute repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products at client locations.
4. Service, troubleshoot, and install various manufacturers' Fire & Life Safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell.
5. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and operational manuals.
6. Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining consistent communication with district staff and clients to ensure satisfaction.
7. Complete Service Acknowledgements accurately using communication devices such as smartphones and laptops.
8. Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.
9. Assist in training or mentoring fellow service team members.
Qualifications:
~ Minimum of 3 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, and Intrusion Systems.
~ Proficient in using test equipment, multi-meters, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices.
~ Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
~ Ability to work in various positions, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
~ Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer needs.
~ Overnight travel may be necessary.
~ Maintain truck inventory to ensure prompt response to customer requirements.
~ Retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local regulations.
Access Control/Security Experience Preferred.
Compensation:
~ Competitive hourly wage ranging from $20 to $29, determined by education, experience, skills, and alignment with market data.
