Job Overview

We are looking for a Culinary Preparation Specialist to assist in the kitchen by preparing essential cooking ingredients such as washing and chopping vegetables, and cutting meats. This role involves basic cooking tasks like reducing sauces and parboiling food, as well as preparing simple dishes including salads and entrees. Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment is crucial, which includes washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and managing waste.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure cleanliness of work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
  • Store food in designated containers and areas to prevent spoilage.
  • Prepare a variety of foods according to the instructions provided by supervisors, adhering to approved procedures.
  • Manage food trays over warmers for immediate service or store them in refrigeration.
  • Notify supervisors regarding low supplies or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Measure and weigh ingredients accurately.
  • Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as required.
  • Wash, peel, and cut various foods in preparation for cooking or serving.
  • Receive and organize food supplies, equipment, and utensils in storage areas.
  • Maintain stocked cupboards and refrigerators.
  • Dispose of trash and clean kitchen waste containers.
  • Transport food supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
  • Utilize manual and electric appliances for food preparation.
  • Keep accurate records of food quantities used.
  • Mix ingredients for various dishes such as salads and casseroles.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Listening skills, presentation skills, excellent verbal communication, teamwork, action-oriented, productivity, and high energy levels are essential.

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. A food handler card or permit is required.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, reach, stir, chop, and cut. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
