Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Escort patients to and from exam/treatment rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Triage patients as necessary, using your clinical judgment to prioritize their care.
  • Administer vaccines and injections, following proper protocols and procedures.
  • Record patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes, prior to the physician's visit.
  • Obtain necessary patient records and verify consent prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Assist physicians with exams and procedures, including injections, dermatologic procedures, pelvic exams, EKGs, eye exams, and more.
  • Administer medications orally, vaginally, rectally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, and intradermally, as ordered by the physician.
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Maintain proper disinfection protocols, adhering to Avance Care's high standards.
  • Schedule patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Complete prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging, as required.
  • Complete all forms used by the provider, including growth charts, MPE, pap forms, cytology-pathology forms, and more.
  • Phone in prescriptions and distribute proper medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Perform other duties as necessary, supporting the healthcare team and ensuring exceptional patient care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Associates degree in Medical Assisting, preferred.
  • One of the following or similar qualification is preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Graduate of Medical Assisting Program (MA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
  • 1-2 years of experience in internal medicine, or primary care settings required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, required.
  • Must pass Avance Care Competency Check (Medical Knowledge Assessment and Vaccination Knowledge Assessment).
