Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Tryon Medical Partners. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care:
    • Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with vital sign measurements, patient history, and physical examinations.
    • Perform screenings and prepare patients for procedures.
    • Assist with patient transfers, dressing, and collecting specimens.
    • Administer injections and perform nursing procedures under physician supervision.
  • Clinical Support:
    • Assist physicians and physician assistants with exams and procedures.
    • Give instructions to patients and families as directed by physicians or physician assistants.
    • Respond to patient care-related telephone calls and messages.
    • Collect and process patient information and messages.
  • Clerical and Administrative:
    • Assemble patient health information and ensure accurate documentation.
    • Communicate with physicians and healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses or obtain additional information.
    • Obtain and send patient medical records to support seamless care delivery.
    • Update charts and ensure accurate filing.
  • Environmental and Logistical:
    • Organize patient flow and set up instruments and equipment.
    • Clean exam rooms, instruments, and equipment to maintain infection control.
    • Perform medical and surgical asepsis, sterilization, and autoclaving.
    • Maintain logs and required checks.
    Requirements
    • Education:
      • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program.
      • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
      • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
    • Experience:
      • Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant.
      • Electrocardiogram (EKG) experience.
      • Vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience.
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to lift and support weight of 35 pounds.
      • Ability to concentrate on details.
      • Use of computer for long periods of time.
