Job Overview

Position Summary

We are looking for a proactive and bilingual Human Resources Specialist with expertise in payroll management to become a vital part of our HR department. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of HR functions, payroll operations, and will be fluent in both English and Spanish. This position entails supporting and coordinating various HR activities, including employee relations, recruitment, benefits management, and ensuring precise and timely payroll processing on a weekly basis.

Core Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management:
    • Administer and oversee bi-weekly and weekly payroll cycles.
    • Guarantee accurate data entry for payroll processing, encompassing employee hours, deductions, earnings, and other payroll-related details.
    • Respond to payroll inquiries and rectify discrepancies in a timely manner.
    • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Employee Engagement:
    • Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
    • Offer guidance and support regarding HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
    • Facilitate conflict resolution when necessary.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Support the recruitment process, including job advertisements, candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring.
    • Conduct orientations for new employees and ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
    • Manage and update job descriptions and postings as required.
    • Oversee background checks and drug screenings for all new hires.
  • Benefits Management:
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
    • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and address any related inquiries.
  • HR Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Bilingual Support:
    • Translate HR documents and communications between English and Spanish.
    • Provide language assistance in meetings and training sessions as required.
    • Support Spanish-speaking employees with HR-related inquiries and issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR coordinator role, with a focus on payroll management.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems).
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a bilingual work environment.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and regulations.
