The specialist is responsible for overseeing daily operations and providing essential supervision and assistance, which includes managing entry points and communication lines, assessing safety conditions, addressing crises, adhering to established policies, maintaining documentation, and performing light cleaning and facility upkeep. A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive atmosphere is essential.

Shifts are conducted overnight, requiring staff to remain alert and complete necessary preparations for the following day from 11 PM to 8 AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the facility, ensuring the safety and maintenance of all areas.
  • Maintain awareness of safety conditions and potential risks.
  • Execute daily operations in alignment with established protocols.
  • Provide professional and welcoming coverage for incoming communications, including crisis responses and resource inquiries.
  • Implement crisis prevention and intervention strategies while following agency guidelines.
  • Establish rapport with clients, serving as a positive role model and maintaining healthy boundaries.
  • Actively participate as a team member, encouraging youth engagement in activities.
  • Directly supervise youth within the facility, during community outings, and at appointments.
  • Acquire knowledge of available community resources to assist clients.
  • Instruct clients in essential life skills, including personal hygiene and household management.
  • Facilitate skill-building groups as assigned.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the multidisciplinary team through shift notes and incident reports.
  • Participate in training sessions, meetings, and supervision as required.
  • Provide backup coverage as needed.
  • Engage directly with clients to assess their needs and clarify issues.
  • Supervise clients in completing assigned tasks, if applicable.
  • Conduct daily inspections of common areas for cleanliness.
  • Be punctual and present for all scheduled responsibilities.
