Job Summary:

The Transportation Manager at LT Corp Logistics is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the fleet. This role requires expertise in Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and compliance, as well as the ability to develop and implement a safety program that drives the company's safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage compliance with DOT regulations, including hours of service, driver safety, and hazardous materials transportation.
  • Develop and implement a safety program that promotes safe work activities and conducts regular safety audits.
  • Manage the fleet of equipment used for transportation, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Provide guidance to the Fleet Specialist on equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Participate in new driver orientation and on-boarding processes, communicating core safety principles and accident avoidance.
  • Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure DOT required maintenance standards are met.
  • Manage accident and insurance claims, conducting post-accident and post-injury investigations and ensuring proper completion of required documentation and reporting.
  • Review invoicing and monitor spending to ensure expenses are consistent with approved budgets and compliant with contracts.
  • Cultivate a team environment that leads to efficient and collaborative results, developing and maintaining positive relationships with providers that address delivery needs.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating LT Corp's leadership traits and reinforcing the company's purpose, core beliefs, and values to all team members.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation working with DOT regulations.
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, Drug & Alcohol Regulations, and other regulatory guidance.
  • Experience working with the transportation of hazardous materials preferred.
  • Experience managing vendor partnerships with 3PL delivery providers preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.

Travel:

  • Periodic travel to company or vendor sites, approximately 30%.
