Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northtowns. As a key member of our staff, you will provide critical support to our youth members, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized and group counseling services to youth members, addressing issues such as anxiety, trauma, and behavior management.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to help youth members achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with site leadership and other staff members to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all youth members.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Participate in program planning and development, ensuring that our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of our youth members.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as child psychology or counseling.
  • Experience working with youth, preferably in a school or community-based setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • CPR/First Aid certification, preferred.
Work Environment

The Mental Health Counselor will work primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor activities. The environment may fluctuate between various noise levels based on activity. The employee will be required to read, hear, and write daily, and will need to be able to react to emergency situations. Moderate standing, walking, bending, and sitting throughout the day, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, are also required.
