Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the business office operations within a skilled nursing facility.
  • Direct and manage all functions of the business office, including billing, collections, resident trust accounting, and accounts payable.
  • Supervise, recruit, and train business office personnel.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels in the business office to maintain seamless operations.
  • Manage the resident trust accounting system, ensuring the security of patient funds.
  • Oversee the patient billing system to guarantee accurate billing information, collaborating with other departments as necessary.
  • Handle all patient-related accounts receivable, including Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance, and Private Payers, ensuring accuracy and timely collections.
  • Conduct front-end collections from residents during their stay and manage back-end collections post-discharge.
  • Administer the Medicaid application and conversion process to ensure prompt resolutions.
  • Ensure month-end billing system closures comply with company policies and timelines.
  • Process charges, adjustments, refunds, payment postings, and write-offs in a timely manner.
  • Guarantee the accurate and timely processing of patient bills and collection correspondence.
  • Provide the Central Billing Office with necessary billing information to resolve claim edits and rejections.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable invoices.
  • Contribute to innovative healthcare solutions by developing and implementing new ideas that enhance systems and processes, fostering a successful management team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; or one to two years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a skilled nursing facility business office with specific expertise in billing, collections, and patient trust accounting.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a business office environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Point Click Care (PCC) billing systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with National Data Care Resident Funds Management System (RFMS) is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate qualifications, compassion, and a commitment to excellence in performance.
