Position Summary

The Guest Services role involves executing a range of administrative and operational tasks to fulfill the needs of members at our recreational facilities.

Supervision
Reports to Assistant Facility Supervisors and Facility Supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by providing accurate information in a welcoming and positive manner.
  • Monitor and check-in members as they enter the facilities.
  • Handle incoming phone calls as necessary.
  • Manage equipment checkout, maintenance, and accountability.
  • Assist with basic transactions for Member Services, including cash handling.
  • Perform cleaning, sanitizing, and documentation of cardio and weight equipment issues.
  • Conduct light janitorial and landscaping tasks.
  • Set up rooms and programs (e.g., volleyball, basketball) as requested.
  • Support management in training and developing new staff members.
  • Contribute to the organization's mission of enhancing property values and creating quality of life through recreation, community events, and leadership.
  • Execute other assigned duties as required.

Work Environment
Most tasks are performed indoors in a busy facility with potential noise and interruptions. Some work may occur outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, wind, cold, rain, and snow. The role requires frequent sitting, walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and lifting. Candidates must be able to stand, walk, or roam for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift. Manual dexterity is necessary for typing, writing, and answering phones. Effective communication skills are essential for both telephone and face-to-face interactions. Vision requirements include both near and far acuity. Candidates should have the upper body strength to lift a maximum of 10 pounds unassisted and 50 pounds with assistance.

  • Exceptional customer service skills for both internal and external interactions.
  • Professional and effective communication with members and colleagues.
  • Capability to manage equipment check-in/out and assist with facility operations and programs.
  • Problem-solving skills to address minor conflicts among members.
  • Basic computer and clerical skills.
  • Ability to lift light objects (10 lbs) safely.
  • Flexibility to work at various facilities across all shifts, including holidays.
  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Successful completion of a drug and background check.

Education and Experience
Completion of one year of high school is preferred. Previous customer service experience and basic computer skills are advantageous.
