Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Specialist Senior to join our team at the State of Idaho. As a key member of our Division of Administration, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial support to the Controller's Office and other agencies throughout the State.
  • Review and approve financial transactions, including requisitions, purchase orders, accounts payable, and reconciliation.
  • Prepare, process, and reconcile accounts receivable billing statements.
  • Complete financial account reconciliations, research errors, and prepare journal entries to process corrections.
  • Develop and prepare financial documents, including budgetary and financial plans.
  • Monitor agency cash balances and research and compile financial information for reports.
  • Respond to external compliance and audit requests.
  • Review monthly program area financial statements and perform fiscal month-end and year-end closeout functions.
  • Inventory and monitor agency assets.
  • Analyze and interpret regulations and policies.
Requirements
  • Strong sense of customer service and professionalism.
  • Ability to work as a team member and individually complete assigned tasks.
  • Consistent thoroughness, excellent analytical skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain consistent and reliable attendance throughout the regularly scheduled workweek.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while being interrupted and adapt to constantly changing situations.
  • Good organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Understanding of internal control practices and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three to five years of state of Idaho governmental accounting experience.
  • Experience working in an enterprise reporting platform (ERP).
  • CGFM certification.
