Senior Meat/Seafood Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Meat/Seafood Clerk to join our team at Sprouts Farmers Market. As a Senior Meat/Seafood Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and ensuring the efficient operation of the meat and seafood department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a high level of customer service, answering questions and assisting customers with their needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and health regulations.
- Prepare and package meat and seafood products, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Receive, store, and grind meats, as well as unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry.
- Count and weigh incoming articles, comparing results against invoices.
- Examine meats in storage, rotating them to avoid aging.
- Provide product knowledge and recommendations to customers, promoting sales and customer satisfaction.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
- At least 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, with 2-3 years of grocery retail experience in meat department processes and procedures preferred.
- Dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Outgoing and friendly behavior, with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment, taking direction and participating in a collaborative setting.
- Good vision, with the ability to use sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
- Ability to lift and carry products horizontally and vertically, weighing between 25 to 90 pounds, for up to 10 feet.
- Ability to use a pallet jack to move pallets, weighing up to 500 pounds, requiring a force of up to 85 pounds, for up to 100 feet.
