Job Summary:

The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, and coordinating with freight carriers to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter shipping product data and returns into an inventory management system
  • Verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule inbound and outbound freight shipments
  • Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming or outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Record shortages and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Create and submit ASN (Advanced Shipping Notices) per customer specifications
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year shipping/receiving administrative experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
  • Prior forklift operation experience and/or ability to become certified
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Strong reading, mathematical, and comprehension skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Work schedule flexibility to accommodate the needs of the business
  • Self-directed and motivated with ability to multi-task in fast-paced manufacturing environment
