About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Administrative Services Specialist II to join our team at Shelby County. This role will provide administrative support to the Division Director, Finance Manager, and Policies & Procedures Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides high-level administrative support to senior leadership, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities.
  • Greets internal and external customers to answer questions about departmental policies, procedures, and business functions.
  • Works with the Finance Manager and Policies & Procedures Officer to conduct program audits and evaluate financial performance and policy compliance.
  • Services the division with financial and purchasing functions, including requisitioning goods and services, accounts payable, annual budgets, and policy compliance.
  • Assists with human resources functions, including payroll, OJI claims, County Personnel Policies, and Memorandums of Understanding.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years' experience performing administrative functions in accounting, procurement, grants management, and/or auditing.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and database software systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective interpersonal skills, and multi-tasking ability.
  • Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment and work professionally with various department staff.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $48,000 per year, commensurate with experience and education. Additional benefits include a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
