Job Summary

The Shelby County Systems Administrator I - Core Services is responsible for the administration, implementation, maintenance, operation, and security of core server operating systems, directory services, file and print services, email, and antivirus systems. This role requires a strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Remote Desktop Services, and various monitoring, logging, and notification services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains internal and cloud applications, including MS Server, MS Active Directory Services, MS Exchange, MS SOL Server, Anti-virus and associated security systems and applications.
  • Implements operating system enhancements to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains all virtual servers in a VM Ware environment.
  • Performs installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of supporting third-party computer software.
  • Provides systems management services, support, and product expertise for the implementation and knowledge transfer of server applications across the enterprise and various customer accounts.
  • Provides level two and level three technical support and serves as Core Services on-call support for problem resolution.
  • Documents procedures and guidelines for assigned responsibilities.
  • Provides root-cause analysis and documentation for system and application integration-related problems and implements solutions.
  • Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience as a system administrator; AND
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, or closely related field; OR
  • An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
  • PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
