Position Overview: We are looking for qualified candidates for a faculty role in Cardiothoracic Radiology. This position involves the interpretation of specialized cardiovascular imaging, including conventional radiography, chest CT, HRCT, CTA, lung cancer screening, and interventional thoracic procedures, alongside cardiac CTA and cardiovascular MR. The imaging processes are fully digitized and utilize state-of-the-art technology. Candidates with interests or skills in thoracic acute care imaging, trauma, oncology, cardiology, transplantation, mechanical circulatory support devices, and infectious or occupational lung diseases are highly desirable. This full-time role will also include the education of medical students, residents, and fellows within a robust academic radiology department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Education: Provide instruction and mentorship to medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the Department of Radiology.
  • Research: Foster professional collaborations with departments such as Critical Care and Pulmonary Medicine, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery, and Cardiology. Maintain a scholarly portfolio demonstrating multi-disciplinary research.
  • Service: Engage in academic service activities, including committee work and professional development.
  • Clinical Duties: Deliver high-quality, specialized imaging interpretations for designated modalities, supporting referring physicians and patients.

Qualifications:

  • ABR certification or proof of passing the Core Component of the ABR Board examination.
  • Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Radiology.
  • Demonstrated experience in promoting a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so.
  • Eligibility for a Virginia medical license and permanent employment in the USA.
