Cardiothoracic Imaging Specialist

Position Overview: We are looking for a qualified Cardiothoracic Radiologist to provide expert interpretation of cardiovascular imaging, including conventional radiography, chest CT, HRCT, CTA, lung cancer screening, and interventional thoracic procedures. The role also encompasses cardiac CTA and cardiovascular MR, utilizing state-of-the-art digital imaging technology. Candidates with a strong interest in thoracic acute care imaging, trauma, oncology, cardiology, transplantation, mechanical circulatory assist devices, and infectious and occupational lung diseases are encouraged to apply. This full-time position includes responsibilities for training medical students, residents, and fellows within a highly productive academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Education: Provide comprehensive training to medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the Department of Radiology.
  • Research: Foster collaborative relationships with departments such as Critical Care and Pulmonary Medicine, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery, and Cardiology. Maintain a robust scholarly portfolio demonstrating interdisciplinary research efforts.
  • Service: Engage in academic service activities, including participation in committees and professional development initiatives.
  • Clinical Duties: Deliver high-quality, specialized imaging interpretations to support referring physicians and enhance patient outcomes.

Essential Qualifications:

  • ABR certification or proof of passing the Core Component of the ABR Board examination.
  • Completion of a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Radiology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse academic environment.
  • Eligibility for a Virginia medical license and permanent employment in the USA.
