Assistant Professor Position in Biology Education Research

The Department of Biology Teaching and Learning (BTL) at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities is seeking two exceptional faculty members to join our team. We are looking for one tenure-track Assistant Professor and one tenured Associate or Full Professor to contribute to our mission of excellence in undergraduate biology education and biology education research.
The successful candidates will bring their research and teaching expertise to our interdisciplinary department, which is dedicated to designing and implementing innovative student-centered approaches to biology teaching. They will be expected to establish a vibrant research program focused on undergraduate biology education research, contribute to the academic and instructional mission of the Department, and provide service to BTL, the College of Biological Sciences, and the University.
About the Department
The Department of Biology Teaching and Learning is a unique department that brings together researchers and educators to foster biology education research and teaching excellence. We are a nationally recognized leader in designing and implementing innovative student-centered approaches to biology teaching, and we are committed to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our department and the University.
We manage all introductory biology courses within the College of Biological Sciences, serving approximately 6,500 students annually. Our faculty and staff participate in the design and delivery of highly innovative, student-centered courses that are typically taught in the University's active learning classrooms.
