Medical Administrative Assistant (MAA) Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Administrative Assistant to provide exceptional support to our physicians and patients.

About the Role

This is a float position where you may be scheduled to work in any of our locations daily. You will interact with our physicians, patients, and other departments to deliver high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures while ensuring accurate pre-certification
  • Triage calls, respond to a high volume of phone inquiries, and prepare charge tickets efficiently
  • Collect and verify patient demographic information, including health history and insurance details
  • Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least two years of experience in a medical/surgical office environment
  • Excellent computer skills, including Epic software and workflow management
  • Demonstrated written, oral communication, and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding principles
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and prioritization expertise
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position requiring regular travel between our various sites across Hartford, Manchester, Plainville, Farmington, Rocky Hill, Glastonbury, and Enfield areas.

Compensation:

$50,000 - $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
