Job Summary:

An Ophthalmic Care Specialist is a vital member of our team at Shoreline Vision, providing exceptional patient care and support to our ophthalmologists. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring a positive experience during their visit.
  • Assist ophthalmologists with patient care, including preparing patients for exams and performing diagnostic tests.
  • Record patient data accurately and efficiently, using electronic medical records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and ocular medications.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent walking and sitting.
