Position Summary: The Coordinator for the Community Youth Coalition (CYC) is an enthusiastic and driven professional with a strong commitment to youth empowerment. This role involves orchestrating meetings, collaborating with various organizations to enhance community connections, and guiding youth coalition members through hands-on learning experiences. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills and a passion for nurturing leadership, self-expression, and confidence among youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee program development, including meeting agendas and facilitation of coalition gatherings.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to enhance community engagement and organize events.
  • Lead field trips and experiential learning activities for coalition members (may occur on weekends).
  • Manage and supervise the activities of youth coalition members.
  • Build strong relationships with coalition members and community partners.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance leadership skills and community organizing among members.
  • Create an environment that encourages self-expression and confidence.
  • Monitor attendance during events and meetings, both in-person and virtual.
  • Maintain program data on Salesforce.
  • Collect and report data for coalition activities.
  • Contribute to the organization's newsletter.
  • Assist with fundraising efforts and social media outreach.
  • Prepare internal and external reports related to the program.
  • Collaborate with Gateway staff on civic engagement projects.
  • Work closely with the Leadership team to strengthen communities of color.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in community organizing.
  • Demonstrated ability in group facilitation and youth leadership.
  • Proven track record in building partnerships at the community level.
  • Willingness to travel for events and meetings.
  • Availability to work on weekends as necessary.
  • Comfort with occasional overnight trips.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Residence in the Lewiston/Auburn area.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages.
