Admissions Counselor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Admissions Counselor to join our team at Job Corps. As an Admissions Counselor, you will play a critical role in recruiting and enrolling eligible youth into our program.

• Recruit and screen eligible youth for the Job Corps program
• Conduct career-based counseling and provide guidance to prospective students
• Interface with other outreach contractors and determine student qualifications for enrollment
• Conduct outreach activities in communities, agencies, and public events
• Responsible for meeting departmental and center goals and objectives
• Conduct orientation and interview with applicants, including parents of minors
• Perform applicant file procedures, including data entry and scanning documents
• Participate in departmental meetings and interface with at-risk students
• Coordinate with centers to support applicants in travel arrangements
• Perform Quality Assurance Checks on all applicant files
• Clearly communicate and consistently model appropriate CSS and employability skills
• Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property
• Adhere to safety practices in all areas of responsibility
• Foster and sustain a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect
• Attend all required staff training opportunities

• Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field
• Associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and two years related experience
• Experience working with diverse youth
• A valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
