Cubico Sustainable Investments Limited is a leading global renewable energy investor, seeking a highly skilled Business Development Director to lead the development of greenfield and early-stage projects in the US renewable market.

About the Role
  • Identify site locations and market intelligence across the US to develop greenfield and early-stage projects.
  • Lead the submission of requests for proposals (RFPs) and build relationships with Utilities and Commercial and Industrial customers.
  • Develop market strategies for the development team to pursue interconnection viability and lease strategy for future greenfield opportunities.
  • Maintain and expand relationships across the US with various stakeholders, including commodity traders, corporates, and utilities.
  • Manage existing contracts and execute revenue contracts, including power, renewable energy credits (RECs), capacity, and ancillary services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand market fundamentals in US regulated and unregulated markets.
  • Develop market intelligence updates and monitor energy market trends.
  • Handle project management and responses to RFPs, offer pricing, and coordinate with relevant teams.
  • Engage with Origination & Execution team members in other markets to ensure global relationships are covered and leveraged appropriately.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years' combined experience in the development, origination, and growth strategy for the US market.
  • Strong communication, PowerPoint, and written skills.
  • Proven track record in solar, battery, and wind acquisition processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the US renewable market and regulations.
  • Established network with offtake customers and developers, including experience in regulated and unregulated markets.
