Job Title: ARMS Application Support Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled ARMS Application Support Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will provide support for the Power Delivery Automated Resource Management System (ARMS) and help innovate and configure the ARMS application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24/7 production support and serve as the first line of support for case management
  • Conduct impact analysis and functional risk assessments
  • Manage production deployments, verification testing, and user implementation support
  • Coordinate user acceptance and bug tracking with customers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application quality issues
  • Manage application life cycle and ensure compliance with change management controls
  • Interface with application vendors and provide support
  • Travel within the Southern Company footprint may be required on an as-needed basis

Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Five years of experience supporting vendor applications
  • Experience with CGI OpenGrid (Pragma Field and Pragma Cad) preferred
  • Experience with Windows Server and associated products (Reporting Services, Integration Services, etc.)
  • Experience with Oracle
  • Experience with C# or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Experience with IBM MQ, Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ), or other message-oriented middleware
  • Experience with Microsoft BizTalk or other middleware/integration bus platforms
  • Conversant in relational databases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively with limited direct supervision
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills
