The Procurement Operations Specialist oversees the tactical replenishment of essential raw materials utilized in James Hardie’s production processes. This role is responsible for managing replenishment planning for materials with long lead times to guarantee a steady supply while minimizing excess inventory. Additionally, this individual will implement and uphold Kanban systems. Success in this position requires a solid understanding of replenishment processes, meticulous attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment. The Procurement Operations Specialist is part of the Procurement team and reports directly to the Procurement Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to manage long lead time raw materials, balancing the need for consistent supply with the avoidance of surplus inventory.
  • Foster relationships with suppliers to ensure open lines of communication.
  • Relay critical raw material forecasts to suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain Kanban replenishment systems.
  • Track and publish key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Work collaboratively across departments to navigate supply risks.
  • Address supply challenges promptly to ensure timely resolutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business, Materials/Logistics Management, or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 1-3 years of planning experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven track record of meeting Key Performance Indicators and business goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to facilitate decision-making and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred).
