The selected candidate will primarily operate within one of our community hospital facilities.
As the Medical Director, you will oversee the efficient clinical operations of the Pediatric Hospitalist Program, ensuring the highest quality of patient care while acting as the principal liaison between the clinical practice, administration, and medical staff. This role involves providing strategic and operational medical leadership, supervising physicians, and guiding a multidisciplinary team of non-physician providers. The Medical Director is expected to uphold the utmost standards of ethical conduct, prioritizing the interests of Fairfax Neonatal Associates, P.C., and supporting our mission to enhance the health and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage services rendered by both physicians and non-physician providers, overseeing the formulation of medical services, including protocols, policies, and patient care management.
- Ensure quality assurance and the appropriateness of medical care and documentation; spearhead quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervise ongoing training and conduct performance evaluations for Pediatric Hospitalists and Nurse Practitioners, establishing annual goals for patient satisfaction, safety, and care quality.
- Set performance benchmarks, evaluate, and provide feedback to clinical staff, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Act as a mentor and facilitate the resolution of practice-related challenges faced by medical staff.
- Lead the selection, development, and optimization of clinical systems and technologies that influence patient care.
- Engage with hospital administration on matters concerning financial performance, operational efficiency, quality, patient satisfaction, budgeting, and legal considerations.
- Communicate the practice's mission to the community and manage community relations effectively.
