Job Title: Deputy Chief Information Officer

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in establishing the organization's IT strategy and roadmap, and safeguarding, operating, and maintaining its technology resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the CIO in developing and implementing the organization's IT strategy and roadmap.
  • Safeguard, operate, and maintain the organization's technology resources.
  • Manage IT contractor sourcing, IT security, IT operations, and the full range of IT services for both on-premise and cloud-based application solutions, infrastructure, and networks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize employee potential and foster high ethical standards in meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals.
  • Make timely and effective decisions and produce results through strategic planning and the implementation and evaluation of programs and policies.
Requirements:
  • One year (12 months) of full-time specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the CU-15 grade level in the public or private sector.
  • Experience serving as a senior official or executive managing a staff or division with responsibility for IT contractor sourcing, IT security, IT operations, and the full range of IT services for both on-premise and cloud-based application solutions, infrastructure, and networks.
  • Ability to develop and implement an organizational vision, which integrates key national and program goals, priorities, values, and other factors.
  • Ability to explain, advocate, and express facts and ideas in a convincing manner, and to negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally.

This position requires a strong understanding of IT operations, applications, and infrastructure, as well as customer care, IT strategic planning, and resource allocation.

The incumbent must have excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
