Technical Support Specialist

Tyson & Mendes is seeking a dedicated Technical Support Specialist to provide remote assistance to our team members across the nation. This role involves diagnosing technical issues and determining effective solutions while offering ongoing support for various platforms and remote area networks.
A successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of computer hardware and software, as well as familiarity with internet applications, Microsoft 365, and the Windows operating system. Strong troubleshooting skills, a sense of urgency, and meticulous attention to detail are essential for this position.
Work Schedule: This position operates from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST or CST, reporting directly to the IT Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-user workstations and assist with user activities on Microsoft Windows.
- Diagnose and resolve network hardware and software issues as they arise.
- Oversee daily management and training of network devices, security protocols, Document Management Systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Translate technical concepts for non-technical staff and users.
- Provide training and guidance to users on new software and hardware.
- Maintain and distribute desktop hardware, including peripherals and driver installations.
- Identify and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software issues both locally and remotely.
- Collaborate and research solutions for software application issues.
- Document repairs and resolutions in ZenDesk.
- Participate in additional projects and priorities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a service desk or help desk environment.
- Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- CompTIA A+ certification is preferred.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as ZenDesk, ServiceNow, or FreshDesk is advantageous.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting wireless network issues.
- Experience in a Windows, Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Azure environment.
- Knowledge of MacOS and iOS is a plus.
- Understanding of LAN/WAN networking principles.
- Familiarity with Ethernet, cabling, network protocols, and multimedia presentation technologies.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills for hardware and software problems.
- Strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a grasp of technical resources.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency.
- Experience in an ITIL or ITSM environment is required.
- Experience in contributing to team documentation is preferred.
