Kinship Family Support Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Kinship Coordinator to join our team at St. Catherine's Center for Children. As a Kinship Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing support services to families and kinship caregivers, ensuring the preservation of the kinship home and promoting the well-being of children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide case management services to families, including monthly home visits, intake and assessment of needs, service planning, and documentation of services provided.
- Coordinate kinship support groups, educational information, and respite services to ensure families are connected with their community services and culture and relationships are preserved.
- Provide direct supervision to Kinship Family Specialists, including weekly and group supervision, to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality services to families.
- Conduct Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) questionnaires with each member of the kinship family within the first 30 days of case opening.
- Attend family court with kinship caregivers when needed and ensure children are safely maintained in the kinship home.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans to meet the unique needs of each family, ensuring stability and preservation in the home.
- Collaborate with clinical consultants, psychiatrists, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support to families and children.
- Provide consultation and supervision to kinship families to ensure family preservation through monthly home visits and weekly phone consultations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a human service field with 2 years of experience in case management and child welfare.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural competence.
- Valid New York State Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and excellent writing aptitude.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with regulatory bodies and community partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Business Workspace Suite.
