Job Title: Senior Philanthropy Officer

Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence is seeking a highly skilled Senior Philanthropy Officer to join our team on the West Coast. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major donors and soliciting gifts to support our mission to prevent gun violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of 50-100 major donors, soliciting and stewarding gifts of $10,000+ from individuals, families, and family foundations.
  • Develop a robust pipeline of prospects using prospect research, existing database lists, lapsed donors, new leads, and follow-up efforts.
  • Collaborate with other members of the major gifts team, the Chief Development & Engagement Officer, and Regional Leadership Councils to engage major donors in gun violence prevention advocacy and deepen relationships.
  • Meet annual fundraising goals and metrics for success in the region, including face-to-face solicitations.
  • Prepare donor briefings and correspondence, working closely with the support team on donor proposals and reports.
  • Travel up to 50% within the West Coast, with occasional travel to DC for broader organizational meetings and events.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in fundraising or a closely related area, involving the solicitation of major gifts.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and cultivate relationships, with a proven track record of success soliciting 6-7 figure gifts and a strong knowledge of fundraising best practices.
  • Superior communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential to share the vision, mission, and programs of Brady.
  • Strong team player with attention to detail and follow-through on all tasks, ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, and collaborate with transparency within the development team and across the organization.
  • Experience in ROI Solutions or similar CRM that maintains donor records.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite and G Suite.
  • Ability to use discretion and sensitivity in handling highly confidential donor information and proprietary data.
  • Event planning and management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where change is constant.
